Pangolin by QuinnPangolin
I love all of the amazing feature off the pangolin. Its characteristics, Its prey/predators but the thing i am worried about is it facing extinction. The Chinese pangolin otherwise known as the scaly anteater is one of the coolest animals you may ever see. It has a hard scaly back which it can roll up in for defense techniques. Another cool feature of the pangolin is it’s super long tongue which it uses to catch ants and termites. The last cool feature of this creature is its sharp curled claws which it uses to dig through the dirt to find its dinner. This animal can be 12 to 39 inches long and can weigh 30 to 40 lbs. depending on the species. The Seven different pangolin species can be found across Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. They love to hang out in places with tall grass so their predators have a harder time of finding then. Another place they like to hang out in is the forest because they can blend in with the surroundings. This amazing creature isn't a very picky eater. It would eat any type of ant or termite it encounters. The pangolin eats thousand’s of ants a day. The pangolins main predator is tigers, but hyaenas and leopards sometimes eat it too. Which animal would you rather snuggle up with a puppy or a panolin? Most people would say the puppy but i wouldn't. People tend to focus on cute animals when it comes to extinction and ugly animals are ignored. This is said because all animals are important to our ecosystem. One of the main reasons that the pangolin is facing extinction is because this is the most trafficked animal in the world. Trafficked means things are being sold that are not supposed to be sold. 10,000 to 20,000 pangolins are sold every year, which is horrible. People think that the pangolin’s scales have healing powers so they use it in rituals. They also use the pangolin meat as bush meat. Now you can see the importance of all animals including this amazing creature. Would you want to help the ugly animals and not just the cute and cuddly ones because if the ugly animals die then the ecosystem will be unbalanced.
